There are two purposes for the existence of this blog.
Firstly, the 'Hare and Hounds for Owls' blog is for the purpose of completing a major subject which is the BIP3013 Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) for our semester two Degree in Teaching English as Second Language (TESL) in the Education University of Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak, Malaysia. Our group member are consisted of:
1. Flora Anak Goyak
2. Noor Atma binti Nasiman
3. Muhammad Ahzam bin Nadzri
4. Nur Shafiqah binti Ahmad Rosli
5. Maya Suliana binti Mohamed Sulong
Secondly, Hare and Hounds for Owls is for the use of the English Language teachers as their references in helping them to search for fun activities involving the use of the Internet and computers. One of the most amusing activities involving the Internet which can be used in the English Language Teaching (ELT) is the Internet Hunts or alternatively known as the Scavenger Hunts. An Internet Hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining items while the participants, whether individuals or teams have to go and browse information from the World Wide Web (WWW) to gather all items needed, perform tasks or take photographs of the items according to the instructions given.

The aim is usually for the individuals or teams to be the first to complete the
list, although in a variation on the game players can also be challenged to
complete the tasks on the list in the most creative method. In an Internet Treasure
Hunt game, students may be working cooperatively in groups of two
or three to a computer connected to the WWW, use Netscape to browse for answers
to a variety of questions by searching various Web
sites and pages for the answers. There are a number of such activities
already prepared, online and free to use from Web pages that include hyperlinks
to the sites that need to be accessed to find the answers to the hunt which
means a search engine does not need to be used in these Treasure Hunts (Ian Brown, 1999).
P.S. We do not own any activities or links provided in this blog. All are created or designed by other people. We placed the links from various sources to promote the Internet Hunts or Scavenger Hunts in the English Language Teaching. Thank you for stopping by!
